From testing AI to turning it into useful work: the business challenge ahead

The adoption of artificial intelligence in Mexico grows, but the challenge now is to integrate it into real processes. Onix Board connects automation, AI agents, communication, CRM and analytics to help companies transform dispersed tasks into measurable flows.

From testing AI to turning it into useful work: the business challenge ahead

48% of Mexican organizations already use artificial intelligence, according to a study by AWS and Strand Partners, but progress in adoption does not guarantee operational results. The next stage is to connect technology with sales, customer service, follow-up, content and data analysis so that AI stops being a demonstration and begins to complete concrete tasks.

The discussion that will accompany AI House during Mexico Tech Week 2026 reflects that change. The event will take place from October 26 to November 1 at different venues in Mexico City, with an agenda focused on autonomous agents, automation, customer experience, infrastructure and productivity.

The problem is no longer accessing AI

Many companies are already experimenting with assistants capable of generating texts, answering questions or summarizing information. However, an isolated tool can increase the number of systems the team must manage without solving the core problem: turning available data into coordinated actions, follow-up and measurable decisions.

The evolution toward AI agents raises the bar. Unlike a chatbot that responds to an instruction, an agent can query information, chain tasks and execute actions with different levels of autonomy. Microsoft notes that more than 80% of Fortune 500 companies use active agents created with low-code or no-code tools, a sign that the conversation is shifting toward operation and governance.

From adoption to execution

For an implementation to be useful, the company needs to define a use case, set permissions, assign responsibilities and measure the result. It must also determine when an agent can act on its own and when it should transfer the process to a person. Unsupervised automation can speed up an activity, but it does not, by itself, prove that the business has improved.

Onix Board brings together management of customers, communication, sales, content, automations, e-commerce, teams and artificial intelligence. Agents can consult authorized information, create contacts, tickets, tasks or drafts and transfer processes to a person when the situation requires.

The platform also centralizes conversations from WhatsApp Business, Facebook, Instagram and Telegram; includes flows triggered by messages, comments, keywords or intents; and offers analytics tools to review the performance of processes and channels. This allows starting with a specific operation —such as customer service, sales follow-up or campaigns— and expanding the implementation as verifiable results exist.

Productivity depends on the process

The value of artificial intelligence is not measured solely by the number of features available. It is seen in completed tasks, response times, continuity of follow-up, quality of service and the team's ability to make decisions with connected information.

The transition to practical AI requires less isolated experimentation and more operational design. For companies looking to progress, the next step is to establish a baseline and use a platform that connects automation, data and human judgment.
