Mexican artificial intelligence finds new markets outside fintech

The startup ecosystem in Mexico is shifting artificial intelligence, IoT and data analytics toward agriculture, education, the real estate sector and other traditional operations. For companies, the challenge is to turn that innovation into measurable and scalable processes.

Mexican artificial intelligence finds new markets outside fintech

Mexican tech startups are expanding the use of artificial intelligence, Internet of Things and data analytics toward industries that for years were less connected to digital innovation. The trend was highlighted by KPMG Mexico on August 27, 2026, based on projects participating in its Global Tech Innovator competition.

The change is relevant because it shows an evolution of technology entrepreneurship in Mexico: new companies are no longer focused solely on financial services, but develop solutions for concrete operational problems in agroindustry, education, real estate, and other productive activities. This diversification also opens opportunities for companies of different sizes to adopt technology with specific and measurable objectives.

Among the identified cases is BioEsol, a startup linked to the agroindustry and winner of the 2025 edition of the competition. In 2026, Quinta Tech earned national recognition with an IoT-as-a-service model and a solution based on smart tires, showing how sensors and artificial intelligence can be used to address maintenance, efficiency and operations needs.

The application of these tools depends on more than simply incorporating software. Organizations need to collect, clean and properly use the data they generate, in addition to establishing controls, responsibilities and metrics that allow verifying whether an initiative reduces errors, improves times or produces business value. KPMG has also noted that many companies accelerate their AI projects, but still face difficulties in demonstrating a return on investment.

For SMEs, progress can start with defined processes: answering frequent inquiries, centralizing conversations, automating campaigns, integrating catalogs or analyzing customer behavior. At Onix Board we offer multichannel conversational automation, unified inbox, e-commerce management, AI-assisted content generation and analytic dashboards to connect these activities with operational indicators.

The expansion of AI into traditional sectors does not eliminate infrastructure, talent and governance challenges, but it confirms that there is growing demand for applied solutions. Companies that define a use case, establish metrics and scale only what demonstrates results will be better prepared to take advantage of the next stage of digital transformation.

If your company seeks to turn artificial intelligence into an operational tool, Onix Board can help you organize your channels, automate flows and measure performance from an integrated platform.
